Currently Gene is recording a couple of songs on guitarist Ken Steiger's upcoming CD entitled "Child of the Storm." Instrumental Metal at it's best. Other artists that can be heard on this CD are Derek Sherinian (ex-Dream Theater, Planet X) keyboards; Tony Franklin (The Firm, Blue Murder) bass; and Virgil Donati (Planet X, Steve Vai) drums.

Where Heroes CrySept. 9th 2002
The latest release that Gene has recorded on is Mike Delaney's tribute CD entitled "Where Heroes Cry." It is a tribute to all the victims of the 9/11 tragedy and their loved ones and all affected by that horrific tragedy. The CD is the idea of artist Mike Delaney (composer/guitarist/singer) and he will be flying to New York on September 9th and giving away 10,000 CD's to those affect by the tragedy. The CD was released on MR. Studio Records and is available at www.mrstudiorecords.com

WHAT'S UP...

Greg Johnson - The Best YetGene would like to congratulate Greg Johnson on his TUI (New Zealand Music Awards) for best compilation of the year for the album The Best Yet. Click here to go to the RIANZ to read the full story of the awards. Greg and Ted have been in the studio working on their upcoming release. It has finally been completed (whew!) and should be available soon. We will keep you posted on all of Greg's shows. They will be listed here and you know Gene will be at the shows having a pint (or two) and listening to some great music. Greg and Ted are heading back to New Zealand for a couple of months in July but will be back to entertain us all. I'll keep you posted on his whereabouts.

Please check Greg's website for more information.

Just went and saw Winger on June 9th in San Diego, Ca. Rod Morgenstein, as well as the rest of the band, played great. I would highly recommend seeing them when they come through your city. They are on tour with Poison and Cinderella. Rod is one of the greatest drummer's and one of the greatest people you could ever meet. I studied drumming with Rod back in 1986-1987. The band was in fine form and I hope to see them again later in the summer when they put together a headlining tour.
