The MySpace site is up for my new cover band. The
band is called Hard6.
I started a cover band to play the local area (including
Vegas and Phoenix). We focus on KROQ music from the 90's
- present. We also throw in some old school funk (Wild
Cherry & The Commodores), 80's (Tommy Tutone &
The Vapors) and some Classic Rock (The Knack & Steve
Miller) are some examples. The site is in the beginning
stages. I will be putting up music samples, videos and
photos very soon. The link is: www.myspace.com/hard6band

The newest Steel Prophet recording can be heard on
my MySpace site. It's titled "Trickery of the
Scourge". Rick Mythiasin is back singing vocals.
And he still has an incredible voice. We're working on
new material and hope to get a full length CD recorded
by the end of the year.

Update on the Steel Prophet recordings. All the
tracking has been done for the first two songs. We will
be mixing them so we can get a new one up for you all to
check out soon. Some photos from the vocal session have
been put in Steel Prophet gallery 2.
One new song and one cover song are ready for me to lay
down the drums. I am finishing writing on a new Steel
Prophet song and once it is finished, I will be going
back into the studio to record the next three songs for
the new CD. I won't say what cover song it is, but it
rules! Looking forward to covering it.
I caught up with Johnny Dee at the Jumping Turtle in San
Marcos. Hung out with the guys in the band and the queen
goddess herself, DORO. They put on a great show, lots of
energy. They were all very cool to hang with. Including
the guys from Fatal Smile who are touring with DORO. If
you get a chance, check them out. They are awesome. And
of course, not enough good things can be said about
DORO!!! There are a few pictures in the miscellaneous
gallery from that night on Doro's tour bus.

The latest update on my ankle is not great. I do
have a partial tare in a ligament and fluid buildup. I
am seeing a specialist and we are getting it better. I
hope to back to 100% in 6-8 weeks.
On the Steel Prophet news front, we have booked our
first festival for 2008. We will be headlining the
Swordbrothers Festival in Andernach, Germany on
September 13th. We are also still writing material for
the new CD. Keep checking back as I plan to put up a
bite from some new songs.

Some minor changes to the website recently. I am
adding some fun features such as animation and hidden
sound bytes. Sort of like Easter Eggs on DVD's.
If you can't find them and would like some hints, just
email me (you know you wanna). I am working on other features such as a
new MP3 player and a new navigation bar also. I will be
selling t-shirts from a couple of the bands I was in. I
will add more merch when I have inventory. The link is on the left side of the HOME page located under the
link for MySpace.

The Anaheim Ducks won the Stanley Cup. Great game
and playoffs. Check out my picture from the Ducks
locker room after winning the Cup. What a night!
ARMED FORCES nugget found!!!
When I was in the studio recording drums for the new STEEL
PROPHET album, I went looking for a
couple of ARMED FORCES
songs we recorded in pre-production before the
'Quicksand' CD back in 1993. I could only remember the
name of one of the songs at the time. It was called
'Trapped in Waco'. Mike Henry liked to write lyrics
about current events. As you can tell by the song that
did make it onto the CD called 'Damnation's Fall' which
was about the riots after the Rodney King trial. Well, I
came across the "other" song. It kicked some
serious ass! I believe the song is titled 'All For
Nothing". I have no idea why it didn't make it to
the album. Same goes for Trapped. I'm hoping to find a
copy of Trapped in Waco. If I do, you'll hear it here.
So I uploaded the song for all to hear at my MySpace
page (See the link on the left of this page). I don't
recall us every playing the song live. So now all you ARMED
FORCES fans get to hear another gem from
me and the boys. Let me know what you think ... but
only if you like it ;)
June 1st 2007
Just finished recording drums for two new STEEL
PROPHET songs. I recorded them at the same place I
recorded my ARMED FORCES drum tracks. Great drum sounds!
The guys are recording their parts now. And hopefully we
will have something for you all to listen to real soon.
The band roster is now original members. Except me of
course! This will be a killer sounding CD. There are new
pictures in the SP gallery and on my MySpace page from
the studio. We are writing and recording the new CD in
stages. We wanted to be able to give the fans something
new to listen to without having to wait until it's all
done and released.
There are a few other pictures added to the
MISCELLANEOUS gallerY as
well. Take a look around. Same goes for the MySpace
pictures. There are also a few new PRESS items added.
Checked out the Scottish games this Memorial weekend. Bad
Haggis sounded the best I've ever heard them. I always
have a great time hanging out with those guys.

Minor update to the site. I have now added the PRESS
page. This is where I will put links to reviews, CD and
radio charts and other press related items. There will
also be scanned images of news articles, reviews and CD
and radio charts. Just getting started and will add more
when I have the time. I am also working on more videos from
past gigs to put in the VIDEO section. And another
picture or two has been added.
I am still working on the drum recording for two new
STEEL PROPHET songs. They are taking longer than I
though because of the recording process. More on that
later.
March 5th 2007
Now it's official, Rick Mythiason is back singing
with
STEEL PROPHET. I am finalizing the drum parts for a
couple of songs and will record them in the next 7-10 days.
The WINGER DVD shoot at the Galaxy was awesome. The
guys rocked! Thanks to Rod, Kip and Reb for hanging
after the show backstage. Good Times!!! Pictures in the
gallery.
January 24th 2007
I've added a few new pictures from NAMM weekend.
They can be found in the Miscellaneous Gallery 2. Will
add more later.

Quotes
Ken Steiger says, "Gene has graciously chosen to re-create Virgil Donati’s drum parts for me live...quite a
task."
"...one
of the most explosive drum attack this writer has seen in quite a while."
LA writer describing Gene's live performance with ARMED FORCES.
An excerpt from the review from Sea Of Tranquility,
"Donati however is like a man possessed-listen to his furious onslaught during
the manic "Vertical Integration (V.I.)", a rampaging metal machine fueled by Steiger's heavy
licks and Donati's pounding drum work."
The reviewer mistakenly confusedGene's drum track with Virgil's.
